A “gritty” history of the 4th New Zealand Armoured Brigade, from its formation in New Zealand through to its final campaign in Italy in 1945. Author Jeffery Plowman is a well-established “armoured” buff who has specialised in studying the history of NZ armoured fighting vehicles and units that used them. This history includes personal experiences from several crewmembers of the various types of tanks operated by the brigade. These stories show the brutality of war from a “tankies” perspective.
A soft cover book of 276 pages, well illustrated with black and white photos, maps and diagrams.
A well-researched and written work.
